The idea of creating a YouTube channel suddenly didn’t come to our minds during the 3 years of our friendship. It happened after a lot of thought process and brainstorming. A YouTube channel is a serious business and as we both are engaged in our 9 to 6 corporate jobs and have individual families to support. Getting time to pursue Music was going to take a lot of commitment and man-hours, but somewhere in our consciousness, we both knew that we have only one life and we should do whatever we can to follow our passion and make life worth living.
Musical Journeys..!!!
We are people from different musical backgrounds. We being born in a typical yet modern Bengali family were pushed to pursue music from an early age. Sumona completed her Bachelors in Music (Visharad) which is a strenuous 6 years course in Hindustani Classical, while I, Tuhin pursued Hindustani Classical for 2 years but due to some personal reasons, my guru left for Kolkata and my classical journey came to a sudden halt. Over the years, I gravitated towards western bands and artists like Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree and John Mayer, while Sumona kept on performing classical and Rabindra Sangeet on stage during Durga Puja events and school fests.
We first met at our yearly family trip to a quaint hill station of Gushaini, in the heart of Tirthan Valley, Himachal in 2018. I came to know that Sumona wanted to pursue her career in Music full-time but her corporate career and family responsibilities kept her engaged. I pursued her that she should spend some time every day to brush up her music skills and made her buy a Guitar so that we can both learn music skills together.
We started practising weekly and slowly began jamming on Guitar and Harmonium. The fusion of Hindustani and Western music became the starting point of our YouTube Journey.
About Author – Tuhin is a Mechanical Engineer and is currently pursuing MSc. In Data Science. He has over 4 years of experience working in various organisations across Delhi NCR working in finance and management domain. Tuhin wishes to pursue his love for Music via YouTube and at the same time, work as a data scientist to solve real-world problems.
