When 40-years-ago, Bashir Badr wrote this – no one could imagine a world with no hugs or shaking hands or seeing each other for an elongated period of time. Who could have thought – this life was a possibility! Though the world is together, unfortunately enough, we are in a grim situation.
Parties, gyms, events – while they have ended, we have survived, hanging on to a thin thread of hope that soon, things will go back to normal.
We all are doing whatever we can to re-instil ourselves into this whole new – New!
It’s almost like someone pressed stop in a never-can-stop machine and we just didn’t know what to do, except to pause and reflect.
But for once, we have the time to introspect. Maybe we had the time, accompanied by a bunch of excuses but now – we are made to pause.
Personally, this was a blessing in disguise. Fresh off the heartbreak express, I was grateful for social distancing and honestly relieved that I didn’t have to live that life or interact with people.
It gave me time to think, to breakdown all the pieces and answer my own questions. It gave me a chance to get to know me!
I guess it does really depend upon the glass-half-full mentality. How you choose to perceive something and how you let it affect you, ultimately determines your state of being.
Though it’s incredibly hard to remain positive when everything around you seems to be crumbling and the light at the end of the tunnel just doesn’t show up – it starts to get to you.
On days like those, pick yourself up and tell yourself its ok to feel hopeless because only then can we appreciate the depth of the good times!
In hope that we all find our new – New!
